2. September 2022
With the appointment of Jingdong Hua as an inaugural member and second Vice-Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) the IFRS Foundation on 31 August 2022 completed the recruitment of ISSB members.
After the appointments of Jenny Bofinger-Schuster, Hiroshi Komori, and Veronika Poutcheva a week earlier on 23 August 2022 there are now 14 ISSB members.
Emmanuel Faber and Sue Lloyd as Chair and Vice-Chair of the ISSB were already appointed in December 2021 and January 2022. A list of all ISSB-members is available online.
The ISSB’s next meeting will be held in Frankfurt (Main) in the week commencing 19 September 2022. Stakeholders can observe the Board’s discussions live on the IFRS Foundation’s website.
The ISSB aims at developing a comprehensive global baseline for sustainability disclosures. On 31 March 2022 the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) delivered two proposals and additional documents in order to create that global baseline. The Exposure Drafts (ED) on Sustainability reporting for public consultation are: ED IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and ED IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures. The consultation on these proposals ended on 29 July 2022. In September, the ISSB technical staff aims to present – among others – board papers summarising these comment letters. The ISSB received close to 700 responses to ED IFRS 1 and more than 600 responses to ED IFRS S1.
