The IPSASB (International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board) emphasises the leading role of the public sector to mitigate climate change and the related demand for high-quality sustainability reporting. Therefore, it has issued an Exposure Draft on climate-related disclosures for the public sector for consultation (IPSASB SRS ED 1).
IPSASB SRS ED 1 proposes disclosure requirements for public entities to report on the climate-related risks and opportunities for their own activities and climate-related public policy programmes and their outcomes. The draft is based on the ISSB’s global baseline and was developed with support from The World Bank. The comment period ends on 28 February 2025.
On 13 November 2024 at 15:00 (CET), the IPSASB will host an online launch event for SRS ED 1. Registrations are possible here.
