The IFRS Foundation has appointed Georg Lanfermann to the Advisory Council with immediate effect. He succeeds Prof. Dr Andreas Barckow, who will take office as IASB Chair in July. In addition to the German standard setter, Georg Lanfermann also represents the standard setters of France, Italy and the United Kingdom (members of the IFRS AC).
The Council advises the IFRS Foundation Trustees and the Board on both strategic and technical matters. It consists of 50 representatives from various groups that are affected by and interested in international financial reporting, including academics, analysts, auditors, investors, preparers, professional accounting bodies, regulators and standard-setters.
