EU taxonomy: report on the application of minimum safeguards and report with recommendations on taxonomy reporting published

On 11 October 2022, the Platform on Sustainable Finance published two reports:

1. report with recommendations on the application of the minimum safeguards under Article 18 of the Taxonomy Regulation; and
2. report with recommendations on taxonomy reporting including annexes.

The Platform held two launch events for the publication of the reports.

The report with recommendations on the application of the minimum safeguards provisions focuses on recommendations on how companies can apply the minimum safeguards, especially as long as EU initiatives such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive are not yet applicable.

The report with recommendations on taxonomy reporting contains recommendations on the development of reporting standards to improve taxonomy reporting and the use of taxonomy disclosures.

Neither report is an official interpretation or guidance of the EU requirements.

The ASCG will continue to follow developments on the EU taxonomy. In addition, the ASCG fora on the EU taxonomy and the submissions to the European Commission will continue.
