Report on the Joint Outreach on “Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Equity”

On 4 March 2024, the ASCG together with the standard setter from Austria (Austrian Financial Reporting Advisory Committee, AFRAC) as well as EFRAG had held a joint outreach event. Subject of the event was the IASB’s Exposure Draft ED/2023/5 Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Equity.

With Prof Andreas Barckow, Chair of the IASB, contributing to the event, the core contents of the IASB’s Exposure Draft were presented and discussed. Further, the participating standard setters provided its initial views. Please find attached our report on the Outreach Event (German version and English version).

The IASB’s comment period will end on 29 March 2024. The ASCG intend to prepare and submit a comment letter to the IASB in the near future.
