Climate-related disclosures in non-financial reporting: EU exposes draft supplement on their non-binding guidelines

The European Commission has published for consultation a draft supplement to its non-binding guidelines for reporting on non-financial reporting.

The supplement will contain guidelines on climate-related disclosures in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), which are also non-binding.

The Commission’s draft is based on the final report of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (TEG), which prepared the relevant recommendations on behalf of the Commission and published these in January 2019.

The ASCG had issued its comment letter on this report on 31 January 2019 (we reported).

Comments on the draft guidelines are welcome by 20 March 2019 by using the template on the EU website.
