ASCG expands Sustainability Team – Dr Kati Beiersdorf new Technical Director Sustainability Reporting

As of 2022 Dr Kati Beiersdorf, CPA, joins the ASCG Team. As Technical Director Sustainability Reporting she will support ASCG’s work in this field. With this expansion of its team ASCG responds to the increasing importance of sustainability reporting. In December 2021 ASCG established a new Technical Committee on Sustainability Reporting.

Dr Beiersdorf comes with many years of experience in standardsetting,  and was a member of several working groups at the European (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group, EFRAG) and international (International Accounting Standards Board, IASB) level. Before joining ASCG she worked in the IFRS technical department of a midtier audit firm and for the German Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel (FREP). She has been into Sustainability Reporting for many years: in 2011, she received her doctoral degree with a thesis on sustainability reporting.

In the upcoming months challenges in Sustainability Reporting include the preparatory work for standards by EFRAG’s Project Task Force, as well as first standardsetting activities of the International Sustainability Standards Board of the IFRS Foundation (ISSB).
