ASCG hosts online conference on ESAP legislative proposal

The ASCG will host on

Wednesday, 16 March 2022
from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

a public

online conference on digitalisation and centralisation
of access to European business data

in the light of the European Commission’s legislative proposal to establish a European Single Access Point (ESAP).

Central features of the online conference are the presentation of the contents of the ESAP legislative initiative by Mr. Sven Gentner (Directorate General FISMA, European Commission) as well as a panel discussion on the success factors for the implementation of the ESAP, in which the legislative proposal of the European Commission will be examined from different perspectives (including preparers, users, software providers). Afterwards, an open Q&A session will give all participants the opportunity to exchange thoughts and questions about the legislative proposal.

You can register now by e-mail to participate in the online conference (bahrmann@drsc.de). You will receive the access data shortly before the event.

The creation of a single European access point to corporate data represents one of the key initiatives of the EU Action Plan to deepen the Capital Markets Union published in September 2020. To this end, the European Commission published a legislative proposal on 25 November 2021 to establish a single access point for all company and product data (we reported).

The ASCG has published a briefing paper on the European Commission’s legislative proposal. With this briefing paper (only in Geman) the ASCG provides a brief overview of the content of the legislative proposal, which affects approximately 167,000 preparers or reporters across the EU, as well as more than 200 existing reporting obligations in 37 EU legal acts.
