DRSC supports the cooperation between ISSB and Goethe University as an associated partner

The ISSB and Goethe University defined the cornerstones of their cooperation in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In the future, Goethe University – represented by its House of Finance, its Profile Area Sustainability & Biodiversity, its Faculty of Economics and Business, and its Faculty of Biological Sciences – will provide scientific support for the development of ISSB standards. The main objectives of the MoU are

• one or two conferences per year,
• networking with the relevant research institutions in the Rhine-Main region,
• education and training regarding the development and application of sustainability reporting standards.

The DRSC is an associated partner of the MoU alongside the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research (SGN), the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE), and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research. The aim is to form an academic network around the ISSB.

In March 2023, the DRSC had already opened a liaison hub at Goethe University to promote scientific evidence in standard setting. The invitation for the first Sustainability Standards Conference on 10 June 2024 has already been published.
