ASCG establishes first integrated working group on intangibles

At its 23rd meeting today, the Joint Technical Committee decided to establish a working group on intangibles. The working group is integrated in nature, i.e. it shall discuss better information on intangibles in the context of both financial and sustainability reporting.

The aim of the working group is to monitor and evaluate initiatives to improve information on intangibles, especially regarding the EU Commission’s legislative proposal and future standard-setting projects. For this propose, the working group should:

  • summarise the current state of knowledge on possible solutions for an improved reporting on intangibles,
  • debate definitions, boundaries and overlaps in relation to intangibles within financial and sustainability reporting, and
  • discuss current activities and work results – such as the EFRAG Discussion Paper “Better information on Intangibles” and work results of the EFRAG PTF ESRS.

The working group is composed of the following members:

  • Christoph Schwager, Christoph Schwager GmbH (Chair)
  • Anja Fink, Deloitte
  • Dr. Ralf Frank, GISMA Business School
  • Dr. Isabel von Keitz, Münster University of Applied Sciences
  • Stefan Schnell, BASF
  • Hanno Wulbrand, Bayer

Further expertise shall be gained from guest speakers and participants.
