16. October 2024
On October 14, 2024, DIHK and DRSC jointly held a virtual event for companies and IHKs on the experiences with the implementation of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The approximately 360 participants mostly came from companies that are mandated to prepare a sustainability report for the first time for the 2025 reporting year. The participants had the opportunity to submit their questions on ESRS implementation in advance.
Dr. Rainer Kambeck, Head of Economic and Financial Policy at DIHK, introduced the topic during the “Spotlight on Sustainability Reporting”. Katrin Discher, TRILUX Group, presented their approach and the status of the implementation of ESRS at the TRILUX Group and answered questions, for example on the organization of the processes for data collection or for reporting at the TRILUX Group.
Georg Lanfermann, President of the DRSC, and Dr. Kati Beiersdorf, Technical Director at the DRSC, then presented the latest ESRS developments and answered questions from participants on selected topics. Against the backdrop of the upcoming mandatory application of ESRS, the discussion centred particularly around the boundaries of the reporting entity and many aspects of the materiality analysis. The status of the standard for voluntary sustainability reporting for SMEs was also discussed. The documents are available here.
Many thanks to Annika Böhm and Cornelia Upmeier, both DIHK, for the organization and the great cooperation in preparing the event.
